This site is dedicated to the memory of James Smart.

James contracted pneumococcal meningitis when he was 2 years old. Although the doctors told us to fear the worst james came fighting through it and six months after becoming ill we had our bright, funny, courageous james back. he had some disabilities, he had hemiaplegia, third cranial nerve palsy, left sided deafness and had to learn to walk, talk, eat and drink again but nothing held him back... james started mainstream school in september 2008, he quickly made friends and had the teachers wrapped round his little finger. He loved to run around, sing and dance especially doing his favourite piece the bum wiggle. His brother Harry was his best friend. He was a cheeky, popular, funny, well liked lovely little man. Unfortunately on the 8th december 2008 we awoke to find that james had died in his sleep, he had suffered a brain hemaorrage. James came on a couple of the walks with us for meningitis uk. He will be so sadly missed, but has given us all so much joy! he has achieved more in his five wonderful years than most people do in a life time NICE SLEEP JAMES XXX
